Tae Kwon Do is a Korean martial art that pursues total mind and body control. Training in the art gives one confidence, strength and a sense of accomplishment, but training in a group offers even more. With the help of others, we are strengthened, supported and inspired to reach farther for ourselves and for others. While we aspire to personal strength, our true power is what we can achieve together.
Stronger Mind and Body, Together as One. What is Tae Kwon Do? Tae Kwon Do is a Korean martial art, which requires the use of only the hands and feet, without weapons. This martial art was developed during the years of 1954-55 by General Choi Hong Hi. Its roots, however, lie in the ancient Korean martial arts of Taek Kyon and Subak.
